Revive! launches franchise in North Yorkshire

Amidst the 'doom and gloom' of the recession Roger Boothman new franchisee is no exception and here tells us his story......
Tell us how it all started?
I worked in the chemical industry for 25 years at a large operating plant. Approx 3 years ago when my company was under threat of closure I began looking at franchising and came across Revive! at a franchise seminar where Mark Llewellyn Revive!s Managing Director was speaking. I was immediately impressed by the company's ethos but found my plans for self employment put on hold when my application for voluntary redundancy was turned down. Three years later the company closed and I found myself looking again at franchising.
Why did you choose Revive!?
I researched the Smart Repair Industry in more depth and went to see a couple of companies. I went to see one of Revive!s biggest competitors but found them too slick and pushy. In contrast the Revive! team were more than happy to give me enough time to research their company. I was given a full list of franchisees and spoke to a number of them. All of them were very friendly and offered support should i decide to join the team.
What happened next?
I did some local market research and identified a demand for Smart Repairs in the local car dealerships. Satisfied with the industry sector and Revive! as a company, I put down a deposit and secured a training date immediately after my redundancy became official.
Tell us about your Training & Launch?
The training was very professional and thorough. Denzil the Training Manager is very organised and patient and structured the training very well to ensure I had a broad understanding of what range of repairs could be undertaken.
In my launch week I attended 8 appointments lined up at car dealerships by Revive!s Head Office staff. I still work with 7 of these dealerships where I completed almost £800+VAT of work in my launch week.
Sales for my first month were £2,700 +VAT against my business plan target of £1,800 so I am obviously very happy with that.
How do you see your future with Revive!?
I feel very confident. Having built up a good relationship with my local customers I know I have a steady stream of work for the future and can capitalise on this as my work speeds up with experience.
I am really looking forward to growing my business with a growing and dynamic brand such as Revive!
